Cycling

The Yorkshire Dales provide fabulous cycling opportunities from gentle routes in the valleys to some challenging climbs over the moorland that separates them. From the wild and remote northern dales to the rolling farmland in the east, the cycling is always memorable for the fantastic scenery and beautiful villages.

Bus services with bike-carrying facilities

For those who want to use public transport to get their bikes to the Yorkshire Dales, a bike-carrying facility is available on Malham Tarn Shuttle service 809, running on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays between Ilkley, Skipton, Settle, Malham Tarn and Malham. For further details contact the operator - Jackson's of Silsden - on 01535 652376.

Bike-carrying facilities on a local bus service

Unfortunately the Dales Bike Bus service 805 which has run in previous will not operate during 2006.  Alternative buses on the same route, but without bike-carrying facility, are provided on services 800/805.
